Appointment as Governor-General
</h4>

On February 29, 1932, a leap year, Theodore Roosevelt Jr. was appointed as the 14th American Governor-General of the Philippines. This appointment came after his successful term as the Governor of Puerto Rico from 1929 to 1932. He took over from George Charles Butte. His tenure as the Governor-General of the Philippines lasted until July 15, 1933.  He was then succeeded by <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/1676/july-19-1949-frank-murphy-died-at-henry-ford-hospital-in-detroit" class="news_link">Francis Murphy</a>, who was the 15th and final Governor-General of the country.
