<h4>The Birth of a Municipality
</h4>

The Act was passed by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines. It led to the separation of several barrios from the Municipality of Gamay and their constitution into a distinct and independent municipality known as Mapanas. The barrios included Mapanas, Magtaon, Magsaysay, Jubasan, Quezon, San Jose, and Siljagon.

The seat of government for the newly formed municipality was established in the site of the barrio of Mapanas. This marked a new chapter in the history of these barrios, providing them with a unique identity and administrative autonomy.
