Early Life and Education

<p>
Born on May 28, 1863, in Labo, Ambos Camarines (present day Camarines Norte) to Agustin Lukban of Ambos Camarines and Andrea Rilles of Lukban, Tayabas. Lukban was the second child in a family of six children. Justo Lukban's siblings included three brothers, Cayetano, Miguel, and the notable General <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/1476/february-11-1860-vicente-lukban-was-born-in-labo-camarines-norte" class="news_link">Vicente Lukban</a>, and two sisters, Rafaela and Concha.

He pursued his Bachelor of Arts at the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/2884/the-history-of-colegio-de-san-juan-de-letran" class="news_link">Colegio de San Juan de Letran</a> and later studied medicine at the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/763/today-in-philippine-history-november-20-1645-the-university-of-santo-tomas-was-elevated-to-university-status-by-pope-innocent-x" class="news_link">University of Santo Tomas</a>. In 1888, he earned his medical license and started his own practice in Manila.
