Early Life and Education

Born Isauro Gonzalez on December 8, 1875 in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, Isauro Gabaldon was of Spanish-Filipino descent. His father, Jose Gabaldon Perez, was a Spaniard from Tebar, Cuenca, Spain, while his mother, Maria Gonzalez Mendoza, was a mestiza. Gabaldon's early education took place in Spain, where he attended public schools in Tebar and later studied law at the Universidad Central in Madrid. He completed his law degree at the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/763/today-in-philippine-history-november-20-1645-the-university-of-santo-tomas-was-elevated-to-university-status-by-pope-innocent-x" class="news_link">University of Santo Tomas</a> in Manila in 1900.

Political Career
</h4>
<p>
Gabaldon's political career began when he served as the governor of Nueva Ecija in 1906. He was later elected as a member of the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1912, representing Nueva Ecija's Lone District. During his tenure, he authored the Gabaldon Law (Act No. 1801), which allocated funds for the construction of public elementary schools throughout the Philippines. These schools, known as Gabaldon schools, became a cornerstone of the country's educational system.
