Objectives and Mandate
</h4>
<p>
The primary mandate of Samar State University is to provide advanced instruction and professional training in various fields, including the arts, philosophy, social sciences, agriculture, fishery, forestry, science and technology, engineering, education, and law. The university is also tasked with undertaking research and extension services and providing progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.

Curricular Offerings
</h4>
<p>
SSU offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and short-term technical courses within its areas of specialization. The university's Board of Regents has the authority to determine the necessary courses to meet the needs of the Province of Samar and the region. Additionally, existing high schools within the university's jurisdiction were transferred to the Department of Education, although the University may operate a laboratory school if it has a College of Education.
