Early Life and Education

Ramon Ang was born on January 14, 1954 into a modest family in Tondo, Manila. He is the son of ethnic Chinese parents. He grew up in this bustling district and worked in his father's automobile repair shop, which played a significant role in shaping his early business experiences and work ethic.

He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Far Eastern University (FEU). He also finished his Doctor of Engineering degree from the same university.  His pursuit of higher education demonstrates his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Ramon S. Ang entered the vehicle business, following his father's footsteps but took it a step further. He specialized in fixing and selling luxury automobiles, particularly Japanese cars, and also traded and sold hard-to-find parts. It was through this business that he met the late SMC Chairman Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco, selling him aluminum wheels. Their bond deepened through their shared interests, with Cojuangco recognizing Ang's potential and business acumen.
