Early Life and Education
</h4>
<p>
Sandiko's early education was marked by his proficiency in Latin, which he began learning at a young age. He pursued higher education at the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/2891/miguel-de-benavides-credited-as-founder-of-university-of-santo-tomas" class="news_link">University of Santo Tomas</a>, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1886. Although he started law school, he did not complete it, opting instead to teach Latin in Malolos.

Revolutionary Activities
</h4>
<p>
Sandiko was a fervent nationalist and became involved in the Propaganda Movement, which sought reforms in the Spanish colonial government.  When the Spanish-American War broke out, Sandiko joined the revolutionary forces and held various positions in the government of General <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/1028/today-in-philippine-history-march-22-1869-emilio-aguinaldo-was-born-in-kawit-cavite" class="news_link">Emilio Aguinaldo</a>, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Brigadier General of the Revolutionary Army.
