Avelino's early life was marked by a strong educational foundation. He pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree at the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/articles/2987/history-of-ateneo-de-manila-university" class="news_link">Ateneo de Manila</a> and later graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the <a href="https://kahimyang.com/kauswagan/articles/2891/miguel-de-benavides-credited-as-founder-of-university-of-santo-tomas" class="news_link">University of Santo Tomas</a>. His academic achievements laid the groundwork for his future political career.

Political Career
</h4>

Avelino's political journey began as a municipal councilor in Calbayog from 1917 to 1919. He then served as the representative of the first district of Samar in the House of Representatives from 1922 to 1928. His eloquence and sharp argumentative skills earned him the respect of his peers, leading to his election as Senate President Pro Tempore and later as the Senate President (1946-1949).
