Adelina was born to Eleuterio Cacnio Santos and Virginia Espiritu Galang in Manila. Growing up alongside her sister Priscila, she was enrolled in exclusive schools, reflecting her family's emphasis on education. She completed her primary education at Assumption Convent in Herran, Manila, and her high school education at the College of the Holy Ghost (now the College of the Holy Spirit) in Manila. Their marriage connected her to the influential Rodriguez family, which included Senator <a href="/kauswagan/articles/1729/december-9-1964-senator-eulogio-rodriguez-died-in-his-sleep" class="news_link">Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Sr</a>. Together, Adelina and Isidro raised ten children, balancing family life with their public roles.
