BIR Eastern Samar surpasses target anew

BORONGAN, Eastern Samar, May 3(PIA)--Once again, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Eastern Samar has surpassed its target this April 2011.

In a phone interview, Gil Mones, tax collection supervisor said that the target for Revenue District Office (RDO) 86 was Php 32.5 M and the firm collected some Php 33,418,928.15 M.

Since January, RDO 86 said it consistently surpassed its target collection and that in March, it became number one!

Meanwhile, in BIR’s campaign of Premyo sa Resibo, Rosuel Go, BIR’s Chief-Taxpayers services said that there is still a minimal participation in the countryside especially in Borongan.

“I think our taxpayers are not yet sold to the idea of spending P2.50 for every text message as a raffle entry,” Go said.

Premyo sa Resibo or PSR is an SMS-based raffle project undertaken to support the efforts of BIR to plug leakages in the tax collection system.
