Borongan public market to go thru P1M makeover

BORONGAN, Eastern Samar, May 5 (PIA)--The public market in Borongan City will soon undergo a makeover.

City Mayor Maria Fe Abunda’s Spokesperson Cora Basada revealed this in an interview with Radyo ng Bayan Borongan DYES.

According to Basada, public bidding for the renovation of the public market is set for May 10, 2011. The funds to be used in rehabilitating the structure is from a P1M grant from Senator Francis Pangilinan’s office.

Basada further explained that aside from fixing the leaking roof of the public market, its walls will also be replaced.

The city also plans to construct a one-storey structure on the lot north of the Borongan City Transport Terminal which is also in the public market compound.

Basada encouraged all firms in the city to participate in the bidding. Details of the project were also published online. (NBQ / PIA E Samar IC)
