Roxas’s appointment to worsen faction in Aquino’s Cabinet

MANILA, Philippines -- The looming official appointment of losing vice-presidential candidate and former Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas as the President’s chief of staff will make the rival factions in the administration more intense, a progressive party-list lawmaker said.

“Mar's entry will likely stir up the factions within President Aquino’s Cabinet. Making him the de facto chief of staff will put him on a collision course with the Executive Secretary, who is identified with the bloc of Vice President (Jejomar) Binay, the bitter rival of Roxas in the last election,” said ACT Teachers Party-List Representative Antonio L. Tinio.
