10 suspected cocaine bricks handed over to PNP-Borongan

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, May 9 (PIA) – A certain Reynaldo Cillo, an employee of LGU-Borongan City, turned-over on May 5 some 10 bricks of white powder substances believed to be cocaine weighing some 10.9 kilograms.

According to Police Superintendent Rosula S. Mambulao of PNP-Borongan, the said items wrapped on a brown packaging tape were found by some SK members along the road in Brgy. Libuton in Borongan and gave it to Mr. Reynaldo Cillo who was on his way to his office.

PSupt Mambulao said that the items were turned over to PNP Regional Office 8 the following day, May 6, for examination at the PNP Crime Laboratory, and for turn-over of the same to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposition.

For his part, PCSupt Arnold R. Revilla, PNP Regional Director, directed all police stations along the shorelines to monitor any similar recovery of cocaine bricks by the fishermen. He also ordered the Borongan PNP to mobilize the Bantay Dagat teams to monitor and help inform the public to turn over to the Philippine National Police recovery of similar items.
