November 25, 1901: La Democracia published the Royal decree of 1751 on the usurpation of Indian lands by Friars
On November 25, 1901, La Democracia, the organ of the Federal party published the Royal decree of 1751 on the usurpation of Indian lands by Friars. The copy of the Royal decree was furnished by Hugo Salazar, a native of Luzon, educated as a pharmacist, prominent in the Federal party during 1901-1904, and in 1903-1904 governor of Surigao province. It was printed with accompanying comments written by him under the pen-name "Ambut".
