<p>
President Quirino, speaking in Baguio the next day, issued an appeal for the cooperation of all law-abiding citizens in eliminating <i>"the last vestige of lawlessness and savegery in our land"</i>, following the shocking incident.  The President issued a proclamation providing for the half-masting of the national flag for 9 days and summoned the constabulary chiefs to a meeting at which he issued fresh orders for the <i>"summary elimination of dissident depredations"</i>.

It was announced (by the President) on April 30, 1949, that the place where Mrs. Quezon and party met their deaths, near the border of Nueva Ecija and Tayabas provinces, will be converted into a national forest preserve to be known as Aurora Memorial Park.

On April 28, 2013, The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) together with the descendants of Mrs. Quezon  unveiled and rededicated a historical marker in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija at the site of the ambush where Mrs. Quezon was killed. The marker is a replacement of the missing old marker.

The former sub-province of Aurora was created as a separate province named in her memory in 1979.  Aurora Boulevard a major thoroughfare in Quezon City and San Juan was named after her in 1963.
