Samar gov hurt by PNoy’s statement that Calbayog mayor’s killing was due to recall election
CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar Governor Sharee Ann Tan has admitted that she felt hurt when President Aquino has claimed that the killing of Calbayog City Mayor Reynaldo Uy has something to do with the recall petition.
Tan, however, was quick to say that she understood the President, considering that the slain mayor was a close political ally.
“Partly, we were hurt. It was unfair for us be judged right away that we’re responsible on that incident. But we respect him,” Tan said.
Earlier, the President has said that the killing of the 59-year old Calbayog City could be due to the recall petition filed against the 29-year old Samar governor. Tan, ran and won as governor of the province under the then ruling political party, Lakas-Kampi, but has now affiliated with the Liberal Party of Mr. Aquino.
