Rep. Gomez accused of violating election law on residency

ORMOC CITY, July 2 (PNA) -- Defeated congressional candidate Silverio R. Tagolino reiterated his petition to invalidate Rep. Lucy Marie Torres-Gomez’s candidacy in the May 2010 election. Tagolino filed his memorandum regarding his case for Quo Warranto before the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET). The move pertains to his petition to declare Gomez as ineligible to run for Congress and annulling her proclamation by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Tagolino’s latest move was in compliance with the HRET’s order for him and Gomez to submit their respective memoranda. Tagolino, in his memorandum, renewed his petition to invalidate Rep. Gomez’s candidacy in the May 2010 election.
