According to the Globe, the industrial dispute involves electrical wire manufacturer Onamba Indonesia and a union representing staff who held a three-week protest at the company’s factory in October demanding better health benefits, life insurance and transportation facilities.
 

Irman Nur, a labour official at the factory, was quoted as saying the company filed a lawsuit against the union at the industrial relations tribunal for holding an illegal strike.
 

In April, the court ruled in favour of the company and allowed them to fire those who joined the strike. The same month, the union filed an appeal to the Supreme Court, the Globe said.
 

Transparency International's latest Corruption Perception Index (CPI) put Indonesia's score at 2.8 out of 10 -- the same as in 2009 -- signalling a perception that there has been no progress on corruption eradication.
