August 25, 1994: TESDA was established

On August 25, 1994, President Fidel V. Ramos signed into law Republic Act No. 7796, known as the "Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994" or the "TESDA Act of 1994". The measure, a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 1283 and House Bill No. 12194 that Congress passed on August 23, 1994, created the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as the primary government agency responsible for technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines.
