One of the more unique aspects of his life was his involvement in traditional theater. Their courtship was initially opposed by her parents because Bonifacio was a Freemason, a group viewed as enemies of the Catholic Church. Despite this, they married in 1893 - first in a Catholic ceremony at Binondo Church and later in secret Katipunan rites in the Santa Cruz district. Gregoria, later known as the <b>"Lakambini of the Katipunan"</b>, became a central figure in the revolution, tasked with safeguarding the society's documents and weapons.

The couple had one son, Andres Jr., born in early 1896.
