What you need



<ol>
<li>PHP version 4 or later</li>
<li>mod_rewrite engine on (optional but recommended to make your URL nice and clean)</li>
<li>htaccess support</li>
<li>php safe_mode – off (for large file support)</li>
<li>Metadata injected flv video files.</li>
</ol>



From here on, it is assumed that the above prerequisites are met.



<li>Download xmoovStreamer server and player.</li>

<li>Upload the zip file to your server. Extract file to your document root. Check the extracted files to make sure 

xmoovStream folder is there. All the rest of the folders and files are not required to run your service. </li>



<li>Start by making logs folder writable</li>

	chmod +w {DOCUMENT_ROOT}/xmoovStream/logs

</pre>



<li>Protect xmoovStream folder from unwanted accesses by creating xmoovStream/.htaccess file with the following 

contents. Don't forget the dot (.) before the filename. </li>

		deny from all
	&lt;/IfModule&gt;

<li>Create a directory where your video will be accessible from. There be nothing inside this folder but 

index.php and the .htaccess file. This is the folder used in accessing your video content. The video folder should be 

in the same level as your xmoovStream folder. </li>

	mkdir {DOCUMENT_ROOT)/video.

</pre>



With the above created folder your video URL would be:

This is the same URL that will be referenced by your player.



<li>Create video/index.php</li>

<li>Create video/.htaccess file</li>

<li>Setup location of protected files</li>
 
The default location of your protected files is xmoovStream/xmoovStream_files/. This location is set in 

/xmoovStream/xmoovStream_includes/xsConfig.php. Change (XS_DIR . '/xmoovStream_files') from that file if other folder name is desired. Don't rename folders under this folder. Drop your video files in xmoovStream/xmoovStream_files/video.



At this point your service setup is complete.



<li>The xmoovPlayer</li>
 
Place the xmoov player in a location that is accessible by your application. The following code should guide you on 

how to embed the player in your page.

If your FLV vidoes are not metadata enjected, you cannot use psuedo streaming.
