UNCLOS expected to issue vital ruling soon on China Philippines dispute on West Philippine Sea

An international tribunal is expected to soon issue a ruling on a territorial dispute between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea (or West Philippine Sea). Though the decision will not determine sovereignty of the territory in question, it could have wide-ranging implications for China's sweeping claims in one of the world's most important and bitterly contested waterways.
