He stated that his other organization, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats Europe Party "is deeply concerned about the arrest of Sen. Leila de Lima in particular and the deteriorating human rights situation in general," Baalen sent this to LP president Senator Francis Pangilinan who in turn released this to the media Saturday.


These foreign groups want de Lima released immediately, and stressed that President Duterte must respect the laws of his country and human rights.


These foreign governments and international groups really should stop meddling in the affairs of the Philippines and start respecting our laws.


As to their claim of Duterte and his administrators not respecting the Philippine laws, they should start boning up on what Philippine laws are, especially since they obviously know nothing about Philippine criminal law, nor, for that matter, do they even know just what the case is about and the evidence presented against de Lima which merited an arrest order against her.


All these foreign groups and rights groups do is to parrot what de Lima and her yellows claim, which is that the accused senator is a political prisoner, that the case is politically motivated as they demanded her immediate release.


Leila is accused of having committed a crime which is drug related, a non-bailable offense in this country.


There have been testimonies and affidavits from various witnesses who have testified under oath, that she had collected millions from drug lords and drug pushers. In one testimony from a drug lord, Kerwin Espinosa, he stated clearly that he gave de Lima, through her former driver and lover, Ronnie Dayan, who stated under oath that indeed, he had collected from Kerwin P8 million, allegedly for her senatorial kitty.


Moreover, according to the Justice chief, Vitaliano Aguirre, there is a paper trail that can prove de Lima was collecting drug money from the prisoners in the national penitentiary in exchange for protection.


The rule of law, legal and judicial procedure were followed strictly in her case. She was given all the opportunity by the Department of Justice to rebut the allegations of her drug dealing in the preliminary hearings held at the DoJ. She ignored the summons and the hearings, insisting that the DoJ had no jurisdiction over her and that the Office of the Ombudsman has the jurisdiction.


Not surprisingly, when the case was brought before the Regional Trial Courts, an arrest order was issued and there she went wailing that it was a travesty of justice; that she was a political prisoner — and that the arrest order was illegitimate and irregular since, as de Lima claims, she still had various motions, such as motions to quash and the issue of lack of jurisdiction of the lower court.


Why then should she not be arrested when she never rebutted the charges against her before the DoJ? Why is she complaining now?


The case against her was never rushed, as it took months for the investigation and evidence gathering.
So why should de Lima be treated differently from the common drug dealer who is immediately arrested and detained?


These Rights Groups and other foreign organizations, such as Liberal International, insists on her immediate release, which is by the way, not following the rule of law and the Philippine laws?


Why are they quickly absolving her of any crime, without even their having studied the case and seen the evidence, and what Philippine laws state?


These foreign groups really should start doing their research as they can easily find out that it is Leila de Lima, who as Justice chief then under then president Noynoy Aquino, who violated the laws of the land, ignored Supreme Court rulings, violated the rights of the former president, Gloria Arroyo, banning her from leaving the country for medical reasons despite there being no cases filed against her then came up with a trumped-up case in record time of one day. Anotehr charge of the non-bailable plunder was also filed after Arroyo was granted bail by the court. Her case was dismissed by the Supreme Court.


So where were these freaking rights group and Liberal International when all these violations were volated by Leila against the foes of Aquino?


Perhaps Rody Duterte was right when he called these foreign organizations that scream about the violations of human rights idiots.


They are truly proving themselves to be idiots.
