In the franchise deliberations of the ABS-CBN Corporation, the importance of media in molding not simply the minds of the public was highlighted, but also the power and influence of the Fourth Estate, the media, in setting political directions that govern a nation.


Where media is elevated to the same high podium as are government officials, in essence, it wields similar if not more potent powers.


Permeating the issues at the congressional cauldron, the question of media's de facto governance as an extremely influential estate dovetails with issues surrounding a felon like Ressa and her foreign-pedigreed legal team where governance issues involve threatening foreign interference.


Where the Fourth Estate has implicit powers to frame political issues, it has potent powers of state governance sans statutory accountabilities. Because of its constitutionally protected powers that lie outside an accountable political system, it is prone to bias and abuse. We saw that in Ressa's crimes.

These are especially relevant where Ressa, a convicted purveyor of lies, marshals her foreign army of lawyers against our legal system.


Other than fraudulently capitalizing her online organ, more foreign funds to the tune of $750/hour for celebrity ambulance chasers like Lebanese-born Amal Alamuddin-Clooney are at her disposal.


Ironically, Clooney's clients include politicians and a rogue's gallery of criminals, traitors and tyrants.


She defended securities scammer Enron Corporation. She also defended Arthur Andersen LLC from charges of accounting fraud.


She then defended a jailed politician accused of anomalies ranging from wholesale election fraud to plunder.


Another client was a notorious fugitive and bail jumper, a hacker and founder of a group called "The International Subversives." Charged with rape and sexual assault, he had also published classified intelligence material for which he was charged under the US Espionage Act.


Clooney was also the legal adviser of the Bahraini leader, King Hasan bin Isa al Khalifa. On the Arab Spring uprisings, The Huffington Post (HuffPost) wrote:

"Bahraini security services crushed the uprising using excessive force, killing many civilians, and wounding and jailing thousands." It was discovered that people "had been tortured to death in police custody and that hundreds more had been injured or killed."

Clooney also lawyered for Abdullah al Senussi, Muammar Gaddafi's intelligence chief. Caught while in hiding, he was brought before the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity and complicity in the Lockerbie terror attack that killed 259 people aboard Pan Am Flight 103.


Like Ressa, Clooney is not the immaculate human rights advocate she purports to be. As part of Ressa's legal cabal, Clooney, in effect, meddles in our government and attempts to influence state policies. That's patently illegal especially where she undermines our international standing simply to feed the delusions of a convicted felon.
