The Movement for a Free Philippines
The Movement for a Free Philippines (MFP) was a Washington, D.C.-based organization established in 1973 by exiled Filipinos. It was formed in opposition to the authoritarian regime of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in the Philippines. The MFP became one of the most prominent Philippine opposition groups in the United States, advocating for the return of democratic norms that existed before Marcos' declaration of Martial Law in 1972.
