August 23, 1938: the UAAP was established

On August 23, 1938, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) was permanently established with the encouragement of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association and the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation (PAAF) then the highest sporting body in the country. Its original members were the University of the Philippines (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), National University (NU), and Far Eastern University (FEU).
